Charleston Conference 2006

The brochure for the 2006 Charleston Conference just arrived on my desk. This is a wonderful conference focusing on serials and acquisitions. The best part is that it is offered in our state so it's much easier to get to this conference. Here's what you might want to know about it:

When: November 8-11, 2006

Where: Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, SC

Cost: $350 for Early Bird Registration (Preconferences are Extra)

Selected Topics:

  • Open Access As a Movement
  • eJournals, eBooks and eResources
  • Planning for Emerging Technologies
  • Book Selection in 2006
  • New Publishing Models
  • Use of Vendor MARC Records

These are just a few of the topics proposed for the conference. To get more information about the conference, go to www.katina.info/conference. The official program is not usually posted until much closer to the conference. As a warning, I will say that it tends to be academic focused, but I still learned a lot when I attended last year.
